Students Chapter Inauguration - Bharathiyar University

The Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, successfully organized the inauguration of NIPM Student’s Chapter on 25th of July 2025 at 3.00 PM in the College Premises. The program was meticulously coordinated by Dr. R. Arjunan, Associate Professor, Department of Social Work. This landmark event brought together academicians, HR professionals, and students, creating a strong academic-industry interface. The inauguration served as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and holistic student development.

The event commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. R. Arjunan, emphasizing the importance of professional collaboration and the role of such initiatives in bridging academic learning with real-world practice. The Swearing-in Ceremony followed, formally inducting the newly elected NIPM Student’s office bearers for the academic year 2025-2026

NIPM STUDENTS CHAPTER OFFICE BEARERS (2025-2026):

  • President: Ms. A. Thanisha (II MSW)
  • Vice President: C. Shruthi (I MSW)
  • Secretary: Ms. S. Meghanaa (II MSW)
  • Joint Secretary: D. Ronald Melkiear (I MSW)
  • Treasurer: S. Thennavan (II MSW)

The plan of action was presented by Ms. S. Meghanaa (Secretary, NIPM Students chapter). It outlined a series of workshops, expert sessions, and interactive learning forums designed to enhance both technical competence and interpersonal skills among students. The focus is on equipping social work students with practical insights, leadership capabilities, and industry-relevant knowledge.

The Chief guest, Dr. R. Karthikeyan, was introduced by Ms. A. Thanisha, President of NIPM’s Students Chapter. In his address, Dr.R. Karthikeyan congratulated the office bearers and shared an impactful success formula, “ASK – Attitude, Skill, Knowledge.” He emphasized that cultivating the right attitude, upgrading skills, and gaining knowledge are key for students to thrive in the dynamic professional world. He also highlighted the evolving role of social workers in industrial and community settings.

Mr. J. Prabu was introduced by Mr. S. Bhavan, President of SWIFT. Mr. J. Prabu appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to lay a strong foundation for their careers through continuous learning and networking. He concluded by extending his best wishes for the successful functioning of  the Students Chapter.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. M. Vishnu, Joint Secretary of SWIFT. On behalf of the students, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. R. Arjunan for his coordination, Dr. F. X. Lovelina Little Flower, Head of the Department, the faculty and the committee members for their support. He also thanked the resource persons for their valuable guidance and encouragement, marking the inauguration as a significant step towards enriching student learning and professional growth.
